The Antipodes Oladra should be connected via UPnP to the dCS system. Content stored locally on the Oladra can then be played to the dCS system using MinimServer which comes pre-installed on the Oladra.
For sources other than playback of locally stored content (such as Roon or internet streaming services), these should be played back directly to the dCS system via its internal streamer instead of via the Oladra. This eliminates any unnecessary format conversions (such as converting the network stream to AES, then converting it back from AES when it arrives at the dCS system).
- Connect the Oladra to the network by connecting an Ethernet cable from the Network port to the router (or network switch if one is being used between the Oladra and the router).
- Connect the dCS system directly to the network, again by connecting an Ethernet cable from the Network port to the router or network switch. Do not connect to the Direct Stream port on the Oladra - this can cause issues with the dCS device connecting to the internet which can impact using apps or streaming services.
- Open a web browser on a device which is connected to the same network as the Oladra. Enter the IP address of the Oladra in the URL bar to load the web user interface for the Oladra.
- Set the Playback Method option as None - Disable Player.
- Set the Server Device as OLADRAserver.
- Click or tap the orange arrow icon to the right of Manage Server Apps. This opens a window to enable or disable server applications running on the Oladra. To correctly connect to a dCS system, the only server that needs to be enabled is MinimServer. This is done by clicking or tapping on the black power icon next to MinimServer, which will turn green and enable MinimServer.
- With MinimServer running, the dCS Mosaic or dCS Mosaic ACTUS app will see an available UPnP server titled after the device name, such as MinimServer [OLADRASERVER]. Selecting this will allow content on the Oladra to be browsed and played to the dCS system.
